Basics: Our four week program is designed to help you solve or curtail behavior problems with your dog and introduce your dog to obedience commands. Like Course 1, our Course 1A program is primarily training you to train your dog.

Problems: The behavioral problems covered include: jumping, nipping, digging, chewing, housebreaking, excessive barking, boundary training, general wild behavior, etc.

Please note: if your dog is fearful or has displayed any minor aggression, you will probably require a more extensive program such as Course 1. Additionally, if your dog exhibits more than three behavior problems, you will probably require a more extensive program such as Course 1.

Obedience: Commands which we will cover off leash in your house and yard are sit, sit stay, come, down, down stay, and no. Our program does not cover on leash obedience during the in-home lessons. As a bonus, all on-leash obedience, as well as, training with distractions is taught in the seven week basic obedience group class.

Please compare this program to competitors programs and note the following differences:

1. Our program is exclusively off-leash training. Although on-leash training is best accomplished at home, you will receive on-leash training in the group class setting during the second portion of this course.

2. We focus on both problem solving and obedience.

3. We include both hands on training for your dog and provide you with step by step instruction, to ensure that your dog responds to you.

4. Our course includes group obedience classes that are critical for teaching your dog proper socialization skills, as well as, how to listen around distractions. The group training is complimentary.

5. Our trainers are experienced professionals with access to information from over 500 of the top trainers in the United States and Canada. Experience the ABTA difference.
